Digital Payments and Financial Inclusion

Digital payments are making financial services more accessible in Afghanistan by enabling individuals and businesses to send and receive money, make payments and manage their finances through digital channels. With digital wallets, payment cards, mobile applications and USSD services, customers can access convenient payment solutions while reducing reliance on cash. Secure and accessible digital payment infrastructure can also support wider financial inclusion and contribute to a more connected digital economy.

Expanding Access Across Afghanistan

Financial inclusion depends on making financial services available to people and businesses through practical and accessible channels. Digital wallets, USSD, POS, ATMs and other channels can help extend access to electronic financial services, including for customers who may not have smartphones or consistent internet access.

Supporting a Digital Financial Ecosystem

Cash remains important, but digital payment instruments provide additional ways for customers to access financial services. NaqdPay supports three key instruments: Cash, Wallet and Card. Customers can deposit cash to load their wallet, use wallets to send and receive electronic money, and use linked cards for purchases and ATM withdrawals.
